Festivals

2009-08-16

Still in festival mode, I've created a couple of new pages.  Upcoming Festivals contains those two pieces of information you often have to visit flash-heavy, bloated official websites (and sometimes have to search more than you should): when is it and who's playing?  The other page, Current Festivals has other information - where is it, how big is it, how long has it been running, and a handy link for good measure.  The previous festivals page I had still exists, and I shall have to tidy up (and update) some time, but this is fairly low priority right now.

First for an Age

2009-07-28

It's been a massive four years since I did anything with this website, and yet I still get hits, so I'd better do something to update it.  As I'm going to M'era Luna in approximately a week and a half, things Hildesheim related seem a good spur to making a few additions.  However, as can be told from the massive gap since the last update, I'm a little busier now than I used to be, but here's hoping I can put a few profiles of artistes playing this year.

First (and only, so far) thing up are the lyrics to Wer Schön Sein Will Muss Leiden by Oomph! (who shall have to be the first artiste profile I do... tomorrow, or maybe the day after).  I'm also attempting to learn a little Deutsche in the next week - the translation on that page is courtesy of Nice Translator and Google Translate.

p.s. New and Changes created to keep track of all new updates.

Why the Wilde Wood?

From Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Graham:

I see you don't understand, and I must explain it to you.
Well, very long ago, on the spot where the Wild Wood waves now, before ever it had planted itself and grown up to what it now is, there was a city - a city of people, you know. Here, where we are standing, they lived, and walked, and talked, and slept, and carried on their business.
Here they stabled their horses and feasted, from here they rode out to fight or drove out to trade.
They were a powerful people, and rich, and great builders. They built to last, for they thought their city would last for ever.

Other websites

Below are links to my other websites.

Tripod - this one is pretty much the same as this one (or at least the way this one was at one point). It's a little disorganised, not least because the hosting space was dramatically cut (twice), and much of the content was deleted from the server, so there's lots of dead links all over it.

Netfirms - this is newer and is where I'll be putting a lot of my new pictures, to save on bandwidth in my main website, which is where you are now.

Gothcentric - this one isn't mine, but I'm putting the link here as Thunder, who runs it, kindly hosts this website for me - ta!
